Diamond Jubilee Chiranjeevi expresses anguish
Mega Star, Padma Bhushan Chiranjeevi shook legs with a group to the tune of 'Chaila Chaila…' in 'Shankar Dada MBBS' live on the Diamond Jubilee Function stage. At the end, Pawan Kalyan joined him and both of them danced together. This had rejoiced the entire audiences present at the auditorium. Later, Allu Aravind came to make a special announcement on the time capsule. He urged all those related to the film industry to write a few lines on how they wanted to be the future Telugu films and drop in a box which would be sealed and opened on the centenary celebrations of Telugu cinema. Intervening in the announcement, Chiranjeevi expressed his deep anguish about the remarks made by his colleague, Mohanbabu in an indirect reference. The Mega Star says, 'We are all like children of Telugu film industry. We are all like a family. In any family there will be some differences of opinions and lapses may occur here and there. If there were some lapses in a home, we don't go out and shout indecently. We will try to solve it amicably within ourselves. Making an outburst in full public view is unfair. The trouble arose over the 'Legend'. When the organizers called me a legend, I refused it because there are several other stalwarts and I am very small before them. I also asked the organisers not to separate me from Nagarjuna, Balakrishna, Venkatesh and others who are of the same age group. Calling me as a legend would distance me from them, which I don't want. However, I was forced to accept it at the instance of the elders. However, I am now surrendering the 'Legend' status, the medal given to me and other gifts that were given to me by the organizers. I will keep the medal inside the 'Time Capsule' box and will take after 25 years during the centenary celebrations. By that time, I will grow old and it is up to the young generation whether to return the 'Legend' status to me or not.' Chiranjeevi dropped the material inside the Time Capsule Box.

Nandamuri Balakrishna

Biography: Yuvaratna Nandamuri Balakrishna Biography

Nandamuri Balakrishna fondly called by his fans as Balayya needs no introduction. He entered the film Industry at the age of 14 through his home production tatammakala, in which he had the opportuinty to work with the two legends of Tollywood, Late Sri NTR and Dr. Bhanumati Ramakrishna. For 10 successive years he acted off and on in movies mostly produced under his home production. 1984 is the year when his first movie as a solo hero was released and interestingly he acted in very less number of movies made under his home productions after that.
Even though entered the film industry because of his father, later his hard work, discipline, talent and dedication made him stand in the industry. He had been acting in movies for the past 27 years but unlike some of his peers, he never cared to celebrate the 10th or the 25th anniversaries of his movie career. He is a simple person and likes to stay away from publicity, which is one of the factors that didn't get him the due recognition. He believes in astrology and numerology and doesn't want to do things in "Rahu Kalam".
He acted in a movie called annadammula anubandham, a remake of Dharmendra's hindi hit yadonki barat at the age of 16. Upon watching this movie, the other legend of the Telugu film industry Sri. ANR's comment was "Simham Kadupuna Simham Puttindi". Interestingly he acted in a brother's role to his real life father in that movie as well as in "Roudi Ramudu Konte Krishnudu", and in a son's role to his real life brother Hari Krishna in the movie "Dana Veera Sura Karna". He won the hearts of many people for his role of "Abimanyudu" in that movie, which also had his legendary father dominating most of the scenes in a triple role. In the year 1984, he acted in 3 blockbusters, "Mangamma gari Manavadu", "Kathanayakudu" and his home production "Sri Madvirat Potuluri Virabrahmendra Swamy Charitra".
In the year 1986, he had delivered 6 hits in a row. During the year of 1993 only two of his movies were released and surprisingly both of them were released on the same day. This is one of the unique feats that none of his contemporaries would ever dare to try. He bid farewell to the previous millennium in style by giving the biggest hit of the previous millennium with "Smara Simha Reddi". The one thing his fans are eagerly looking from him is a superduper hit in the combination of ace director Sri. K.Raghavendra Rao, who had given such blockbusters like Adavi Ramudu, Vetagadu etc. This combination was able to deliver only a mediocre hit (Apurva sahodarulu) and an average hit (Aattabishekam) out of the 5 movies they did so far.
Balayya is famous for his roles in the movies made with village backdrop. The undeniable factor is that, among his contemporaries, he is the only hero who is best suitable for playing the mythological and folklore roles in movies, for which his legendary father was famous. He worked as an associate director for his father's last directional venture (Samrat Asoka). An ardent fan and admirer of his father, he had equal if not more respect for his father's contemporaries. His dream projects are Gona Ganna Reddi and Chenghis Khan and want to direct these movies under his own banner. He needs to improve in the areas of proper planning and needs to adapt quickly to the changing trends in the industry.
We at nandamuribalayya.com wish him on the occasion of his 43rd Birthday(10th June 2003) and wish him all success in his future projects and life.

Venkatesh

The macho, handsome and brawny Daggupati Venkatesh (Venki) was born on 13th Dec 1960 at Karamchedu, Prakasam dt. He is a second son of the famous producer Dr.D.Rama Naidu.Brother Suresh Babu is a producer of high standard films.
Venki, after obtaining an M B A in the U.S., returned to look after the family business. But destiny willed otherwise and on the advice of his father, he took to acting. He made his debut with the film Kaliyuga Pandavulu in 1986.
The care he took from the beginning in choosing the stories is the main reason for his success as a top hero. He earned full marks as an actor with his early films, 'Prema', 'Brahma putrudu', 'Bobbili Raja' etc, in which he played distinctly different characters. His speciality lies in acting not only in commercial hits with mass appeal, but in playing the charecters that displayed his talent.Every body expects a Venkatesh film to have something new to it.
Although an actor , he is not a person who allows success to go into his head.No matter what, he is always soft-spoken and humble, he comes across as a mature human being. He is more of a businessman compared to an actor.According to him ,he is in the film industry to make money. He earns his living with it.

The year hasn't been that great for Telugu cinema despite films starring biggies like Chiranjeevi (Shankardada Zindabad -- the sequel to Shankardada M.B.B.S) and Mahesh Babu (Athidhi.
Though the films got mixed reviews, the actors? performance came in for some praises. Here are the noteworthy ones of 2007.
Venkatesh
Films: Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule (AMAV), Thulasi
'Victory' Venkatesh came back with a bang after a gap of more than a year with AMAV.
Selvaraghavan had etched a good role for him in AMAV, which required portraying a lot of subtlety in emotions. And Venkatesh was perfect as Ganesh in this film.
Thulasi, on the other hand, projected Venkatesh more as an action hero. As Thulasi Ram, Venkatesh was a silent, yet violent character. The movie had a lot of sentimental stuff as well. So Venkatesh could portray a kaleidoscope of emotions.

Nagarjuna

The celluloid scientist Nagarjuna, son of the Akkineni Negeswara Rao, was born on 29th August 1959 . He Graduate with an Engineering Degree from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. Nag's foray into films is an act of passion. His first film Vikram(1986), made a splash at the hearts of youth.
It was 'Geetanjali' that has taken Nag's image as a romantic hero to new heights. 'Shiva' gave Nag much needed action Hero image and Nag made inroads into the hearts of students. Fueled by the success of Shiva, Nag made a grand entry into Hindi filmdom with the remake of 'Shiva'. This film has also got him Amala, his soul mate.
Nag paired up with Vamsi to produce one of the biggest Telugu romantic blockbusters, 'Ninne Pelladatha'. After this film Nag faced the biggest challenge in his cine career. That is to act as Annamayya, the legendary singer/poet of Medieval times.
To his credit he blooded Geetha Krishna, Ram Gopal Varma, Uppalapati Narayana Rao, Praveen Gandhi and Pratap. He offered a new comer Krishna Vamsi just by looking at a 5 minute rushes of 'Gulabi'. Nag will be known as the person who changed the mindset of industry with his creative thinking. He encouraged the new technology in his films. And others followed him.
Nagarjuna is characterised by his soft-spoken nature. Being a frank and an open person, he has won a permanent place in the heart of Film Industry in South India.
After a decade of acting in films and becoming one of the most popular film stars in South India, he wanted to try producing a film. He made history of sorts, by producing a film "Sisindri" with his nine month old son,Akhil won several awards for his performance.
Always propagating quality cinema with clean entertainment, Nagarjuna yearns to make good movies, which would not only rise above the typical commercial movies but also enhance our heritage, rich tradition and family values.

Prabhas

It''s his birthday on October 23. The year 2007 hasn''t been very lucky for him. Yet, Prabhas hopes he will have a good run in 2008. Soon, he will begin shooting for his next film with Puri Jagannath. On the eve of his birthday, IndiaGlitz gets him to talk of his favourite co-star and marriage

Here’s wishing you many happy returns of the day!
Thank you.
How’s your career shaping up?
I have had a bad year. Both Yogi and Munna didn’t do too well, though they have got good reviews. Having said that, it cannot be ignored that Munna made six crores in Nizam. Yogi did okay too. So, looking forward for future projects!
Both Yogi and Eeshwar bank heavily on the mother sentiment… Did you want it that way?
It is just coincidence. Even Munna and Chatrapati too have mother sentiment. We didn’t try to put in anything. It just happened.
One usually associates Prabhas with mass, action films. Are you game to trying different subjects like Aparichitudu?
In my case, I have already tried experimentation in Chakram and Pournami. But they failed at the box-office. So, now I stick to good old mass films.
What do you look for before signing a film?
First, it has to be the storyline. Then, of course, it would be my role. If the role excites me, then I look out for the director and banner.
Action flicks apart, what kind of films do you personally like doing?
I love romantic subjects. Gitanjali is among my favourite films. Then come the action films. Sentiment films are surely not in the top slot.
Looking back, which is your favourite among your films?
Definitely Chatrapati. The audiences too have liked it.
There is intense competition in the industry these days. How do you deal with this?
By being smart and trying to make the right choices. That you have to put in lots of hard work goes without saying. It is equally important to try variations in characters and characterization.
Krishnam Raju is known for his historicals. Do you have any intentions of trying your hand at historicals or mythologies?
Yes, but after four years or so. I surely would love to try doing some good subjects. In fact, Bhakta Kannappa, which stars my uncle Krishnam Raju in the title role is among my favourite films. Incidentally, it was directed by Bapu garu, which is another highlight. I would love to do a similar role.
There are rumours about you doing a film with your uncle soon…
Yes. It will be launched next year.
Among your female co-stars, who do you like the most?
Shriya.
Are you open to doing multi-starrers?
Why not? Though I should be convinced about my role in it.
Still some films show heroes bashing up 20 goons single-handedly. Your take on that?
This has been the trend since black and white films. People have watched them and continue to watch them. Personally though, I like natural action sequences. We tried our best to make the fight scenes look believable in Chatrapati.
After Puri’s film, what are your other films?
I haven’t signed any yet. The shooting for this film will begin from November. I am reading scripts.
What’s your opinion about love marriages?
There’s nothing wrong in it.
So, when are you getting married?
My older brother is still to get married. It will be at least four years before I get married.
Anything you want to say to your fans?
I would like to thank them for all the love and adulation they have given to my uncle and me over the years. I really appreciate all that they do for us, but I sincerely advise them to concentrate on their careers and wish that they would do well in life!
